All quiet on the western front!

I'm Oops!
Sorry guys I keep forgetting to post!

Recap for the last few months!

I still haven't purchased ANY fabric! Yay me.

I haven't been doing too much sewing - which is why I haven't posted really. Lost my Sewjo :-(

What I have made :

This quilted pet blanket for my vet - I was practicing my quilting. Going to make some more of these to use up scraps and help keep the animals warm!

In the process of making this puff quick for my bestest friends baby boy! So excited for her! It's her first baby!!!

This dress was made for the 'Boo! Design' 's exchange they do each year - I had to buy a boo zipper cause let's be honest they are spectacular 🙊

Made these cuties at Easter time using kinky and felt! Seriously aren't they just the cutest?!?
Side note too - I entered my first one I made into a comp AND WON! Yay me!

Made this adorable bunting!!

Made this all with scraps and the face my cuz gave me - I love her lol

Made a Mini NCW for my mummy for Mother's Day !

I have made some other items but forgot to take photos - a romper for my cuz for her new born baby girl and a teddy from her sons baby onesie.

So I honestly haven't been doing much! Currently making some skirts for a friend with her material and some of mine added in when needed.

And always using up the tiny pieces you really can't use to fill pillowcases to make pet beds for my vet too for the cattery and for sick animals!

Need to find my Sewjo!

Using the scraps!

So I've spent the last day and a half between life stuff using up my scraps to make pet pillows !

Like most sewing enthusiasts, please tell me I'm not the only one surely!, I have a bucket of scraps that I either know I can't use them for anything or they are just big enough to do something someday! But that day never happens!

So I got some cheap pillows from K-Mart and cut them in half width ways to make two smaller pillows out of and have stuffed them with my scraps. I did cut a lot of the scraps up as they are long pieces and this way animals can 'dig' and 'nest' easier.

These will be a continued thing I'll be doing to use up every little piece of fabric from my collection and taking the mini pillows to Central Coast Vet Clinic - these people are amazing and they are also a cattery!

These are the finished items.

Also my nappy covers! I forgot to post a photo of them!

Hope you're having a lovely day in your part of the world!

Eeep!

So, yesterday after I did my post I had 10 views within an hour and I was like 'OH MY GOSH THATS SO COOL!' Well, I have woken up to 245 views! I'm in shock!

Looks like I really do have to stick to this thing now since there are so many people that will know if I failed haha.

It is POURING here in Eastern Australia, so its the perfect weather for sewing! I started by cutting out 4x nappy covers and 8 bibs from this dinasour fabric I've had in my collection since I started about two and a half years ago!

Of course my first lot of sewing my stash couldn't go smoothly. I don't have the right size elastic for the waistbands of the covers and ran out of thread for the bibs as well as Velcro! 😂😂😂😂

Looks like I'll be going to Spotty!

THANK YOU for coming and looking at my lil blog and keeping me accountable as well as the lovely supportive comments on my post as well as on the FB status that started all this!!!! So nice of you all =]

Starting point!

Hey There!

So I am attempting what every sewing enthusiast says they will do - sew up the exsisting stash before buying new fabric.

Yes I can hear you laughing saying 'yer right' or 'I say that every year' but I really want to try!

So to keep myself accountable I'm starting this blog and will keep anyone interested updated on my progress or (let's face it) my dispare when I fail.

So this fabric buying ban is only on fabric - obvious right?!? I will buy elastic, snaps, trims, lace, buttons etc that will help finish items but just no fabric!

I am going to sew up my whole stash to then sell through my business - Khy's Hobbie (www.facebook.com/khyshobbie)

Now my space is just pathetically messy. I did at one time attempt to organize as you can see in the photo that most fabrics are wrapped around comic boards. These are all pre washed and ironed fabrics so yay that makes it a bit easier.
In the top left corner of the left cube are two plastic containers of FQ (if anyone has a suggestion as to what I can use these for please tell me cause I brought them not knowing what to do with them yet I've never really found a use).

I have bags of fabric too I brought from my friend when she was de-stashing. See I'm such a lovely person haha

I use the ping pong table as my cutting and sewing area - I'm sure my friends want their space back as they are in a championship league so they have lost their practice space haha.

So follow my journey! And let's see how far I can get!
